Most recently, Liz has spent seven years as leader of a planning team specialising in telecommunications development. There was considerable emphasis on the importance of pre-application consultation and negotiation, with attendance at public meetings a necessity. This required the ability to comprehend the technical intricacies of the network and to be able to explain them coherently to interested parties, including local planning authorities and residents.
Prior to this, Liz gained extensive public sector experience, having spent 12 years dealing with a varied development control caseload, including recreation and leisure activities, farm diversification schemes, coastal development and residential and industrial redevelopment. Consequently, she has an excellent understanding of the challenges faced by local governments, which is of significant benefit when dealing with local planning authorities and their elected members.
